Design of a contemporary tenement-house located in the city center, between two other historical tenement-houses. It consists of an underground parking, commercial functions in the groundfloor, and housing functions in the upper floors. There have been conceived 4 different types of accommodations, according to number of rooms. Part of the main volume of the building was pushed in, to mark out the car entry. In the façade there have been used gray bricks for the groundfloor, and wooden panels with white plaster for the upper floors.

Projekt zabudowy mieszkaniowej zlokalizowanej w centrum miasta pomiędzy dwoma zabytkowymi kamienicami. Składa się z części parkingu na kondygnacjach –1 i –2, części usługowo handlowej na parterze, oraz mieszkań na kondygnacjach wyższych. Zostały zaprojektowane 4 typy mieszkań, dla 3,4,5 i 6 osobowych rodzin. Dla urozmaicenia bryły budynku część elewacji została wciśnięta w głąb działki co sygnalizuje wjazd na podwórze posesji. Ponadto na górnych kondygnacjach znajdują się dodatkowe tarasy. W fasadzie budynku zastosowano szarą cegłę w parterze, a na górnych kondygnacjach połączenie drewna z białym tynkiem.
Project designed for the 10th edition of a nationwide student’s competition entitled ‘Acupuncture of the city’, organised by the magazine ‘Architektura – Murator’. The idea was to find an answer for two problems: 1. the breakdown and depopulation of the nowadays city center 2. the aggressiveness and effrontery of comercials (bill-boards, posters, sign-boards). Projekt zrealizowany na X-edycję ogólnopolskiego konkursu studenckiego ‘Architektury-Murator’ pt. Akupunktura Miasta. Pomysł na tę pracę łączy w sobie próbę odpowiedzenia na dwa problemy – 1. opuszczenie i upadek centrum współczesnego miasta, i 2. agresywność i nachalność reklam (billboardów, plakatów itd.) Jest próbą połączenia promocji pustych i niezagospodarowanych działek w centrum miasta dzięki umieszczanej w nich reklamie, oraz zwrócenia uwagi na zaśmiecenie krajobrazu miasta przez umieszczanie reklam i szyldów na fasadach budynków w niekontrolowany sposób. Arrangement of an interior of an apartment, located in a spinning mill of a manufacturer Markus Silberstein, in Łódź. Monumental and postindustrial building was adapted for the housing apartments. The main rule was to leave an open-space floor. It led to making of a single-space flat (with 5 steel pilars), where only bedroom and bathroom were isolated by walls. The distinctive elements are kitchen, divisions of floor-areas, and the fireplace with its popart pattern. The old elements like big windows and painted-gray brick walls, are the evidences of the indusrial character of this interior.

Projekt obejmuje aranżację wnętrza budynku starej przędzalni Markusa Silbersteina przy ulicy Piotrkowskiej w Łodzi. Zabytkowy poprzemysłowy obiekt został tu adaptowany na funkcje mieszkalne. W tym projekcie jednego mieszkania główną zasadą było pozostawienie wolnego planu. Powstało jednoprzestrzenne wnętrze, w którym wydzielono ścianami jedynie łazienkę oraz sypialnię. Wyróżniające elementy to kuchnia, rysunek posadzki, oraz ozdoba salonu – kominek z nadrukiem popartowym. Natomiast elementy stare świadczące o przemysłowym charakterze mieszkania to wielkie okna, oraz pomalowane na szaro ceglane mury.
This design is an arrangement of an interior of a lobby, which was meant to be located in a spinning mill of a manufacturer Markus Silberstein, in Łódź. Monumental and postindustrial building was adapted for the housing apartments. In this particular design the most important aim, was to link it with the industrial atmosphere of the place, by the appliance of proper ‘rough’ materials like: red brick walls, cast in wood concrete, steel, cooper.

This project consists of a sequence of particular analisyses: ground, panorama, skyline of the city, backgrounds and foregrounds, valuation, and composition of the view seen from the hill called ‘na Rogach’ in Łódź. The land development was inspired by the leavings of some mountain-bike take-offs. To the top of the hill there are leading two paths, one for the pedestrians and the other for bikers. The bikers path ends up with a take-off, and the pedestrian path ends up with a landscape viewpoint. The viewpoint was meant to be constructed by solid wooden panels, and to be pointed directly at the skyline of the city center. Collaboration – Małgorzata Knapek (IAU student).

Projekt składa się z szeregu analiz terenowych, analiz panoramy oraz sylwety miasta, wyszczególnienia planów panoramy, analizy kompozycji przestrzennej oraz waloryzacji panoramy widocznej z punktu widokowego zlokalizowanego na tzw. ‘górce na Rogach’ w Łodzi. Zagospodarowanie górki na Rogach jest inspirowane zastanymi w tym miejscu pozostałościami po rampach i skoczniach zbudowanymi tam w celu przeprowadzania zawodów mount-bikowych (jak na fotografii powyżej). Na szczyt ‘górki’ wiodą dwie pochylnie (dla pieszych, oraz dla rowerzystów). Jedna z nich zakończona jest skocznią dla rowerzystów, druga punktem widokowym, który jest solidną konstukcją drewnianą wykonaną z desek o szerokich przekrojach. Punkt wytycza kadr widokowy skierowany bezpośrednio na sylwetę centrum miasta. Współpraca Małgorzata Knapek (studentka PŁ i IAU).
The designed building is a kind of ‘filling’ in the city’s structure, at one of it’s corners. Based on a ‘L’-shape groundfloor consists of typical hotel-conference functions (80 rooms), restaurant, cocktail-bar, shops at the groundfloor, underground parking, and many other necessary technical rooms. Simple shape of the building with a round corner has been distingiushed with drawn away walls at the groundfloor, and at the topfloor, where the apartments with the terraces are located. An additional mark out in the façade is the appliance of cooper panels, and especially designed shapes of windows. Collaboration in the project – Dagmara Pawłowska (IAU student).

Zaprojektowany budynek to typowa plomba miejska w narożnej działce. Założony na planie litery ‘L’, zawiera funkcje hotelowo-konferencyjne (80 pokoi), restaurację, cocktail-bar, usługi handlowe w parterze, parking podziemny, oraz szereg funkcji techniczno-socjalnych. Prosta bryła z zaokrąglonym narożnikiem, wyróżnia się cofnięciami w parterze, oraz na ostatniej kondygnacji, gdzie znajdują się apartamenty z tarasami. Dodatkowym wyróżnieniem w fasadzie jest zastosowanie miedzianych paneli oraz specjalnie zaprojektowanej stolarki okiennej. Współpraca – Dagmara Pawłowska (studentka PŁ i IAU).
